Kraus and Naimer


Kraus & Naimer - a specialist manufacturer of electrical high power devices. Produces high quality control gear switches and optional extras. The load switches of the C, CA, CAD and CL-series offer a solution for most cam switch applications. Different contact designs, contact materials and terminals allow for their use as control switches, instrumentation switches and motor control switches, as well as in electronic circuitry and in aggressive environments according to IEC 60947-3 and VDE 0660 part 107. The stage is the basis for all switches and can be supplied with a maximum of 2 contacts. The terminals are accessible from the side. CA and CAD switches are supplied with open terminals to facilitate wiring and are protected against accidental finger contact according to EN 50274, VDE 0660 part 514 and BGV A3. Switches up to type CA25B are supplied with captive screws with clamping plates. The switch types CA40-CA63 are supplied with box terminals. Captive plus-minus terminal screws and integrated screwdriver guides facilitate wiring. The switches of the new CL-series are supplied with rust-free and acidresisting IDC terminals (Insulation Displacement Connection) instead of screw type terminals. The stripping or preparation of the insulation is no longer required. Eliminate errors due to i.e., stripped end of the conductor too long or too short, incorrect sleeves used, sleeves crimped incorrectly or wrong crimping tool is used, terminal screws not tightened properly etc. The CL switches reduce installation time by 60 %-70 % compared to the screw type terminals. This translates to significant cost savings. For connecting 2 conductors to a terminal an additional screw terminal with plus-minus screw is available. If a positive manual operation or a higher DC rating is required, many of these switches can be fitted with a snap action latching mechanism - suffix „S“ - to the switch type. The cam-operated switches of the L-series are continuous current rated for off-load switching. They may be used to switch resistive or low inductive loads. The KRAUS & NAIMER cam switches type C, CA, CAD, CG, CHR and L switches have the following common features: • Maximum of two contacts per stage. • Maximum of 12 stages per column. • Internationally approved. • Tested to the latest IEC947-3 standard.
Type CL Switch • Rating available 10A • Designed for vertical wiring (resp. horizontal for -V mountings: e.g. VE-V, FF1-V) • Contacts with 1μm gold plating • Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC); No insulation stripping or preparation of the conductor is required
Type C Switch • Rating available from 32A to 315A • For high current switching for ON-load and OFF-load switching of both resistive and inductive loads. • Can be used for DC current switching. • Terminals can be fitted with pin, fork and ring type cable lugs.
Type CA Switch • Rating available from 10A to 32A. • Terminals accessible from the side. • Finger proof terminals to prevent accidental finger contact according to VDE0106 part 100 (VBG4) • For use as control and power switches for on-load and off-load switching of for both resistive and inductive loads. • Can be used for DC current switching. • Terminals can be fitted with pin and fork type cable lugs.
Type CAD Switch • For low voltage switching to as low as 30mV using H-Bridge with “cross-wire” contact system ensure high contact reliability with gold plating contact for CAD11 & silver contact for CAD12. • For use as electronic control switches, instrumentation switches as well as in highly corrosive environment. • Terminals can be fitted with pin and fork type cable lugs.
Type CG4/CA4 Switch • The CG4/CA4 small size of 30mm x 30mm makes it suitable for use in compact control panels. • Rear access to terminal facilitate wiring when switches are placed very near to each other. • The CG4-1/CA4-1 have high contact reliability due to the multiple cross-point gold contacts which makes it very suitable for use in electronics and instrumentation application. • Terminals can be fitted with pin and fork type cable lugs. • Maximum 8 stages (16 contacts) for CG4 and 9 stages (18 contacts) for CA4
Type CHR Switch • Rating available from 6A to 32A. • Rear access to terminal facilitate wiring when switches are placed very near to each other. • The CHR10 (20A) can accommodate large cable up to 4mm2. • Finger proof terminals to prevent accidental finger contact according to VDE0106 part 100 (VBG4) • For use as control and power switches for on-load and off-load switching for both resistive and inductive load. • Can be used for DC current switching. • Terminals can be fitted with pin, fork and ring type cable lugs. • For low voltage switching to as low as 30mV using H-Bridge with “cross-wire” contact system ensure high contact reliability with gold plating contact for CHR11 & silver contact for CHR12.
Type L Switch • Rating available from 400A to 2400A • Continuous current rated for off-load switching for resistive or lowinductive loads.
