Grunert

Grunert offers a wide range of solutions for AC, DC and engine-driven applications, in a variety of capabilities to suit individual requirements. You can choose from a wide selection of dry plate evaporators and holdover plates. All Grunert systems run on environmentally friendly R-134A refrigerant gas.

Holdover Plates

True Eutectic Solution
• Specially formulated mixture of water, salts and inhibitors.
• Provides stable box temperatures throughout holdover period.
• Injected into plates under a vacuum (30 microns).
• Four temperature ranges available: 0°F (-18°C), -9°F (-23°C), and -18°F (-28°C) for freezer applications and 26°F (-3°C) for refrigerator applications.

Unique Stainless Steel Construction
• Hand polished #304 stainless steel (.062) for clean, aesthetic appearance.
• Easy mount flange system on short side of all plates.
• Internally gussetted steel tubing improves thermal transfer and is high pressure tested to 550 psi.
• Hand welded seams by certified TIG welders.
• Wide variety of sizes and ranges to accommodate various box designs.

Dual Circuit Design
• Permits paralleled operation for engine drive and AC or DC voltage condensing units for redundancy.
• Retrofit crossover assembly for easy conversion to single unit.
• Rapid “pull down” of plate temperature when run with a double pass on one condensing unit.
• Dual set of thermostat sensing wells for accurate temperature control.

Polar Mate - Artic and Antartic Models AC and DC Voltage

Polar Mate
• Each unit is equipped with LeakView, an ultraviolet dye system which enables small leaks to be located visually with a UV light.
• New, larger capacity Danfoss® compressor. (DC Only)
• Built-in fuse for component protection. (DC Only)
• Smaller, easier to use quick connects.
• Receiver for installation and run reliability.

Complete Kit
• Unit can be shelf mounted or bulkhead mounted with additional bulkhead mount kit.
• Two sizes of evaporators can be configured for custom applications.
• Horizontal evaporators are supplied with a door assembly and horizontal ice cube trays.
• Vertical evaporators are supplied with extruded aluminum vertical ice cube trays.
• 15’ refrigeration line set with “quick connect” fittings provided with each system.

High Quality Components
• Hermetically sealed compressor for quiet, efficient operation.
• Water cooled condensers are constructed of spiral fluted cupronickel encased in a copper shell providing maximum heat transfer and high corrosion resistance to seawater flow.

Environmental Considerations
• All units have quick connect fittings and are pre-charged with refrigerant for ease of installation.
• Utilizes “ozone friendly” refrigerant R-134A.

• Each unit is assembled with a charge of nitrogen to ensure that scale does not form during soldering.
• Every unit is leak checked, test run and shipped pre-charged with refrigerant.
• Charge Guard® protection provides sealed access ports to ensure system integrity during handling and installation.

Mariner - DC Voltage / Belt Driven Model

Modular Concept
• Unique compact base fits any application.
• Water-cooled and Air/Water-cooled models available.

High Quality Components
• Replaceable brushes on all DC motors.
• Continuous duty cycle rating on DC motors.

Remote Electrical Box
• Completely enclosed box protects components
• On board, low-voltage (DC) circuit provides safe control operation.

Environmental Considerations
• Utilizes “ozone friendly” refrigerant R-409A.
• All units have base valves with service ports for evacuation, leak checking and refrigerant containment.

Quality Assurance
• Each unit is hermetically sealed using nitrogen, ensuring a contaminate-free circuit.
• Units are leaked-checked, test run and shipped pre-charged with refrigerant.
• Charge Guard® protection provides sealed access ports to ensure system integrity during handling and installation.

Passagemaker - AC Voltage / Hermetic Models

High Quality Components
• Hermetically sealed compressor for quiet, efficient operation.
• Vibration isolators are incorporated in all mounting platforms for additional noise reduction.
• Replaceable filter/drier without refrigerant charge loss.
• Sight glass/moisture indicator assembly to monitor system refrigerant charge.

Remote Electrical Box
• Completely enclosed box protects all components.
• 5’ harness allows for a dry, accessible mounting location.
• Low voltage (12volt) controls provide an extra margin of safety.

Environmental Considerations
• Additional service valve permits refrigerant isolation for drier change.
• Utilizes “ozone friendly” refrigerant R-404A.

• Each unit is assembled with a charge of nitrogen to ensure that scale does not form during soldering.
• Every unit is leak checked, test run and shipped precharged with refrigerant.
• Charge Guard® protection provides sealed access ports to ensure system integrity during handling and installation.

Caribbean - Engine Drive / Belt Driven Models

Modular Concept
• Components can be remote mounted.
• Receiver, accumulator, drier, pressure switch and valves are on one convenient pallet.

High Quality Components
• Rebuildable compressor, including valve plates and shaft seals, for long life. (ED 150 only)

Remote Junction Box (optional)
• Enclosed box protects components and provides for convenient connections.
• Low voltage (12 volt or 24 volt) controls provide an extra margin of safety.

Environmental Considerations
• All systems have base valves with service ports for evacuation and leak checking the system, and a receiver for refrigerant storage.
• Utilizes refrigerant 409A.

• Each unit is assembled with a charge of nitrogen to ensure that scale does not form during soldering.
• Every unit is leak checked, test run and shipped precharged with refrigerant.
